Equipped Play Area in Bartlett Square
Delivery of the equipped play area on the Lovells Farm housing development moves a step closer

Finally, after quite a few years of waiting, the project to deliver the equipped play area is entering its final stages. The installing of the fencing & play equipment, with bins and benches, should be completed by this autumn (2026).
Between Somerset Council and Ansford Parish Council, it has been agreed that the ownership of the land (the freehold) will transfer from Backhouse Housing directly to Ansford Parish Council. This will mean that it will be the Parish Council’s responsibility to maintain the equipment and the area as a whole (cut the grass etc). The legal transfer is in progress now.
The Parish Council has taken the basic design drawn up by Somerset Council and added some of its own funding to enhance the facilities available.
